bar Region 2 Youth Ministry bar

My name is Katie Tylinski and I am the new youth coordinator for the four parishes of our region. I am thrilled to be here!

As you may have heard, I was a youth minister in New Castle for nine years at St. Camillus Parish. I graduated from St. Vincent College in 2005. My husband and I reside in Ford City. I started here as your coordinator of youth ministry on July 20th. Everyone has been so welcoming and it is clear to me that this is a very special community of faith.

As the youth coordinator for each of the four parishes and I will do my best to be present to all of you and serve each of the parishes equally.

I have two office locations; one at Christ the King and the other at St. James. I will be informing you of my office hours once I establish them so that you know when and where to reach me. My cell phone number is 724-212-6740, that way you can reach me easily no matter which office I am working at.

I encourage you to step outside of your comfort zones and participate at the awesome youth events that will be held at all four parishes. I look forward to meeting you!

Have a blessed day! ~Katie

At the back of the church there are interest forms for parents and for youth in grades 6-12, as well as volunteers. These forms were recently mailed to you. Please return them to me at your earliest convenience or drop them in the box at the back of the church. We are looking for volunteers. Please consider using your talents to serve this very important ministry. We need volunteers of all kinds: from chaperones to teachers, core team members and beyond. Please note your interest on the forms that are in the back of the church.

The Office for Evangelization and Faith formation for the Diocese of Greensburg sponsors a youth pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington, DC, each January. Our annual pilgrimage, slated for January 21-22, 2016, is open to youth in ninth through twelfth grade and their adult chaperones. No middle school students are eligible to attend and all chaperones must have their required PA clearances. The youth pilgrimage includes the Life Is Very Good evening and morning rallies at the Eagle Bank Arena on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., as well as a pizza party, overnight hotel accommodations, all meals, the 42nd Annual March for Life, and a diocesan t-shirt and bag. The total pilgrimage cost is $125. A $25 deposit is due by ASAP, to reserve a spot and spots may fill quickly. There are only 50 spots available for this trip. Spots will not be held for parishes without the deposit. Payment is due in full by January 8, 2016. For more information, please contact Katie Tylinski.
